Found another post from The Anthology that indicates at least one of them is Fintex

That looks mighty nice. Looks nicer than dww’s summer tweed (which this composition reminds me of).

another option: if you have your heart set on caccioppoli, they should issue new fabrics for spring summer 2025, so being patient could work in your favor as well.

When I got into bespoke I didn't realize how much internet sleuthing it would involve!
It’s an addiction.

The worst is when you get into finding old maestros with little to no internet presence. Then it’s a pitty if you already have a good relationship with a tailor who cuts a really nice jacket in a similar style. Like all the knowledge wasted!

I don’t know. If you can’t find them on google, I’d guess not. As with all things, it’s best to go to your tailor and ask. Obviously we all have our biases (for no particular reason, I don’t like holland & sherry) but ask your tailor first. Then make adjustments for your own biases.

yea, I definitely would, but rather than asking them to lug a book across country for a trunk show I like to take a peek and see if there are things in there that interest me first...

the other thing is, your tailor needs to have access to fintex. I think most don’t. So there’s that problem too. It’s a weird thing because English tailors have such long standing relationships with larger houses (Harrison’s, Fox etc.) that it’s hard to break into that market (eg taylor & lodge, who made outstanding fabric but couldn’t seem to make it work).

What is the closest substitute cavalry twill to the one made for anthology for their wrap coat?

The Cavalry twills in Standeven Snowdonia seem to be the closest but still are a few grams lighter. All the heavier cavalry twills start to get a little “fuzzy” and woolen whilst the antholgy looks like a slick worsted

Has anyone tried the linen / wool blend by Maison Hellard for trousers / jackets / suits? What were the results? Anyone know of a similar fabric by another mill? My tailor doesn't work with MH. Thanks

John Cavendish has 50/50 linen/wool suitings.

Are you talking about the Linen Fresco? I have a suit that I'm picking up Saturday.

Just saw a length of that last week. It might well be very good, but it is probably not a miracle solution to all problems. I am thinking that real light Fresco, or mohair tropical blend, or pure linen herringbone might be more to the point.
