I'm looking at a beige Wool Seersucker, (290g from Delfino) for a very casual summer suit (have generally never been a huge fan of cotton tailoring). I can't seem to find pictures of it made up as a suit, but I do have pictures of the swatch, as well as trousers and a tie:

With the right styling details (patch pockets, unpadded shoulder, contrasting buttons, which could even possibly be brass), do you feel this would be able to work as a sport coat too? Likely to be paired with high twists like a brown or light/mid grey fresco. It definitely has texture, but is it the 'right' texture?

Could I get some suggestions for good winter cloths for odd trousers, mid brown and navy? Moderate to heavy, nice drape, soft. Not sure about the donegals but I like the flannels.

Some I've been looking at:

CL2-34 feels like a suiting to me - I have had the swatch forever, and actually have a length en route. I am thinking in a DB the microgrid effect of the weave will provide more visual interest than a standard flannel, but that might not be what you want for odd trousers

Loro Piana’s The Lightest is a very fine wool-silk blend and basically a mock Seersucker. I have a suit in Navy and love it.

If you like flannels, then your choices are infinite and best left to you.

For softer, wide wale corduroy is a friendly member of the wardrobe.

London Lounge cavalry twill is heavy and leans to the woollen, not the slick worsted side of that spectrum. Get it lined. Not sure if there is a subscription coming in that.

Have a look at Dugdale invincible for some Cavalry twills, their brown is amazing (picture doee not do it justice)

I’m in the Northeastern US. I tend to run cooler.

some mid weight stuff should be on your list
draper's - ascot 4 ply (and the last ones in the supersonic for a nice blazer)
delfino - high twist
standeven - british classic
LP - sopra visso
smith woollens - finmeresco
harrison - moonbeam
lovat - bard

For plainer vanilla colors, try Dugdale Fearnaught.
