Reda has an ample book of wool shirtings:

Saw the book today, IRL. Ordered two— it is a LOT more expensive than cotton. But if it doesn’t require professional laundering and lasts even a few more weeks than regular cotton, it should pay for itself. In my twisted little brain…

Below are some direct comparison shots in my closet (i.e. under a florescent light), I'd say its confirmed...

Honestly, if we could get up enough orders I'd like to do another run in the original summer tweed shade. Its my favorite spring/summer outfit and it sadly no longer fits. I've asked DWW on more than one occasion if he plans to do another run and every time he's said he didn't have any other plans, so I don't quite feel like its undercutting him...

Yeah I think those are appreciably different based on your photos.

I'm all in on another run. I think we could probably drum up interest. Maybe I'll ask for the minimums from Bennett Silks... are you up for checking with Derek whether he is okay with us running with it? I suspect he would be as long as there is no profit involved.

There are no minimums for ordering from them and they are reasonably priced. I have ordered from them many times.

There are alternatives, but more summer tweed would be useful.

I’ll reach out to him, although I haven’t messaged with him much since his SF departure and Twitter blow up.

I'm talking about a minimum to do a custom run of fabric that is not stocked, though.

Maybe @kolecho can give some insight from experience, but I think the number is generally probably somewhere between 30-60 meters

Varies widely from company to company. I was trying to get a run of barleycorn tweed organized and was told we needed 120m…

Alright. I think I've done enough liability collection for a while. Now it is time to get some of these made up.

First up is this Abraham Moon jacketing that's really pretty.

Next up is this length of Scabal Sunrise. After the first one I thought the fabric was something special, so when I saw this light blue/grey I snagged a length of it. Included at the end is a comparison of the two Sunrise lengths.

And Finally, this cool houndstooth check from John G. Hardy. This one is I think my favorite of the bunch:

And apparently that's the limit of the number of images I can attach, so that's all that gets put into this post.

Besides the shade difference shown in your photo, the DWW was 60% linen and it made on a longer loom. If memory serves it’s width was around 165-170 cms. I’ve never run across a fabric with that width.
To me, the DWW version is much better.
