hi all thankyou for the glencheck replies! The hfw allsport II seems to be the front runner. Anyone care to share their experience/knowledge of the HFW QZ2 vs. Drapers superbio? Open to more mid-dark grey suggestions for a single breasted 2 button suit - i was after something with a bit of texture, good handle and weight! See pics below, many thanks!

Superbio all the way. QZ2 is high maintenance

As I no longer buy fabric, I now think of this thread as a place to talk about things I'm planning on making up, to ask about fabric advice, to look at swatches, etc. Then, once something is started, it moves down the assembly line to the Bespoke Projects thread.
Please keep doing that, I learn a lot from it, and love to hear forum-members thinking aloude so I understand their philosophy. Gosh I miss Dieworkwear, he once helped me pick out just the right shade of tan and mid-grey cavalary twill trousers, wore the mid-grey variant yesterday, had to think about him hahah.
Also in the process of commissioning a camelhair polocoat, this reminds me to check his posts again on that particular garment.

In terms of denim/chambray shirt fabrics, do you guys have favorite fabrics? Thinking about all season more than summer, so doesn’t have to be super thin.

These are unfunded as in I need to wire money to B&Tailor. Doing a three piece SB in the Fox City sage 4 point star, flapped pockets at the waist as I think this is not formal enough for jetted, and too formal for patch...

Anglo Italian wool linen slubby thang - doing a quarter lined 3r2 sport coat, 2 button sleeve, patch pockets at the waist as I am wont to do.

Another 3r2 sport coat in this kinda transitional Anglo Italian fabric - Mar thru May and Sept thru Dec in Boston are where I think it will likely typically work best for me.

re: Cocktail Collection by Fox. I ordered samples of 3, 6, 8, 9 and 10. I find them very soft to the touch, which whilst pleasant, doesn't lead me to believe the fabric might be good for the trousers of a suit. The dark brown is nearly black and under some lights, like the one of my desk right now, I cannot see brown at all, not even by squinting. My favourite is the green one, because it is very dark as well, but here you see a subtle green tone coming out.

On a side note, I am having trousers made with the heaviest flannel by Hardy Minnis, which the (Italian) tailor said it is the best cloth he handled in a while. Whilst on for my trial, I confirmed liking it as it had a lovely weight to it and draped very well. I opted for this fabric as through my research on this thread, it seemed HM was the best offer for heavy flannel trousers, so thank you.

Ordered a length of minnis flannel (heaviest) via Camez, and also a bedford cord.
Plus two lenghts from Standeven Stonedale, so I can compare it to my existing LL grey flannel trousers. But this sounds very promising!

Superbio is great. You might check out the heavier midweight classic British suitings by other brands.

I'm looking to get some Bateman Ogden suitings on my hands for a striped DB, bit more old school.

Also, im looking to get two lengths of covert wool for some trouserd. I've just funded two worsted flannels for trousers, dark grey and dark green.

Thank you.
Have a dead stock Bedford cord from Holland & Sherry. Made a trouser for a client and he wants more of them in other colors. Didn’t have a source.
Made 5 pocket jeans with it too

I wanted a wool version (brisbane has cotton) so that's why I went with dugdale invincible. I thought it was minnis, but I was wrong.

Holland and Sherry Dakota used to be a standby for lighter weights.
