Hmmm I think I prefer the bitter chocolate to the chocolate barathea. Chocalate and other regular browns, for me, look better in linen and cotton than in plain wool, regardless of the weave. But the bitter chocoalate looks like a mix of black and brown, not a regular brown, so I can more easily see it as a worsted suit.

I can see what you mean. There is a slight purple hue to it. I’ll definitely consider it. It would go as an amazing DB, getting my first in a Harrisons flannel before branching out.

Very cool. What's the composition ratio and reference number?

Not sure of the reference number, was a “vintage” piece I found. No mention of the composition ratio too - it is 13oz though (370gr per metre)

No theres a new “cocktail collection” https://foxflannel.com/collections/cocktail-collection/products/cc14 quite nice from the sample i have.

How is the trousers for your suit if its that open?

thank you for pointing me to the CC, I wasn't aware of that. As for my cloth, it is very robust hence it works ok, but I wouldn't repeat the cloth purchase. EDIT: I just see it looks very similar to mine and given the midnight barathea in that exact same weight is not a limited Fox Drop anymore, I would think it is the same as mine. I would recommend purchasing a sample from them.

I had a dark chocolate brown mohair (never posted it) that I made into a 3 piece 1button suit a few months ago...I have always thought that cloth could have been used for a tux

Has anyone made up or in the process of making up that new 19/20oz flannel bunch that fox released? Talking with a tailor and he would want to try to make some trousers with that instead of the classic flannel bunch they have. I'd imagine it drapes like armour but I have some reservations about its wearablity.

The sample is quite hefty vs their normal bunch - Lambswool vs Merino too

I just commissioned a pair of trousers in the medium grey from that bunch to go with a fox serge blazer. The sample felt sturdy enough for a lovely pair of trousers.

If it’s anything like the Alden/LL collection, it will be quite special. Not for warm or humid rooms, though!

Rangoon and Piuma are getting renewed attention. In that vein, has anyone had recent experience with Lesser 8/9 or Harrison’s Mystique?
