Did you take the front or the back side?

Interesting that you chose it for a jacket, as Solaro is known to be an eminent suiting cloth. Being in linen certainly makes it more suitable in my opinion.

I'm having it made on the green side. I may end up having some pents made as well, but I envision this jacket being used in a very casual way; jeans/white denim, tan cotton pants, etc.

Yes, they are Smith Solaro which are 100% wool. The reference number is (was?) 2574.

I'm looking for a fabric for a wedding suit, possibly a three-piece, that I can use as a regular three season suit afterwards. The colour should be medium grey and it should be wrinkle resistant.

The wedding will take place in mid-October. In terms of temperature, anything between 10° and 20° Celsius is possible over the course of the day. However, as it will mostly take place indoors, this is only of secondary importance.

Without having seen it in real life, my current favorite is VBC Ascot 4-ply 18051. Might VBC Ascot 6-ply be an option too? Are there any other bunches I should take a look at when I am meeting with my tailor?

Really resistant to wrinkles will make it less formal-looking. Fresco 10oz is a classic, and Fox Air will be good for that, though.

If you want to give a little on the performance, something like Harrison's Frontier (or Fine Classics), or even Lesser 13oz will be just dandy, depending on how hot you run.

LuxeSwap will sell most of that kind of stuff, they have an account on here and sell it via consignment on EBay. Don’t think they sell fabrics though.

I think @Despos and @brax have said they're very happy with Harrison's Premier Cru for dress-y, formal fabrics.

Was there last month, found great cloth I haven’t seen in years. Old stock from Zegna, Loro Piana, Huddersfield, Drapers, etc.
helps if you have some discernment of good cloth from bad cloth because the place is huge and a mixed bag. Pockets of gems but you have to search for them. It’s not a library but you can sense there is some organization going on as the people working there know what is what and where things are but you won’t.
No idea about prices.

I am about to order a jacket in it from Spier & MacKay. They have other brown checks in stock from Abraham Moon and Marling Evans. I'm wrestling if I should just order one of them and save $300 or if the 520076 is worth the extra. Any thoughts?

I wasn’t happy with Brooklinen which is why I asked. I found them, despite their marketing, really expensive.

I like linen sheets / duvets. I found Brooklinen ripped after 2 years.

On the flip side, my frette duvet cover ripped after 6-7 years of regular use.

I’ve gotten a couple duvet covers and a handful of pillow cases from Magic Linen. I’ve had no issues over the three years or so I’ve had them. They’ve softened nicely with use
