I ordered swatches from Fox so that I can see and handle the cloth before commissioning a jacket. This one caught my eye. It may be on the reddish end of the spectrum…it’s hard to tell on a screen, as always. But it’s intriguing. https://foxflannel.com/products/autumn-brown-prince-of-wales-check-tweed

This solid green tweed looks quite nice too. https://foxflannel.com/collections/fox-tweed/products/forest-green-twill-tweed
One thing Fox has nailed is the colour palettes of their greens and browns

looking form opinions on this: what do you all think of a 10oz (300-320g) worsted for summer? It’s a London shrunk. Typically, I’d think of that type of fabric for shoulder season, maybe even winter. But, I drive to work in ac, & enter ac office.

The other day, I had a w. Bill Irish linen, and sweat so much because it was so heavy & it’s not like I was outside to take advantage of the breezy-ness of linen
It would probably work. My fox city suit + full lining held up okay in British 29 degrees summer outside and definitely works in the office. Only problem would be public transport

I should add, I live in Florida. It’s hot & humid. But I suppose I wouldn’t wear the suit everyday.

Is the 10oz london shrunk the fox classic worsteds/ H Lesser or some vintage length?

Lifestyle wise if your trips arent outside without AC for a extended amount of time then I suppose you’ll be okay unless you wear really hot and sweat alot.

Honestly, I think CM is awful for summer. I ditched it for the summer months.

I realized no amount of fabric'ing around would change the fact I'm wearing multiple layers. It's insanity.

I also started wearing my "Summer suits" in winter time and feel a lot more comfortable.
I've come to this conclusion too. For me there's no such thing as summer fabric and winter fabric. Anything can be worn between mid fall to mid spring. The other months it's just chinos with polo shirts or SS linen shirts.

Vintage length. It’s a lumbs golden bale with London shrunk.

The price classic menswear pays for having dropped the waistcoat.

Only you will be able to tell. It depends on how dense the fabric is, no? Apart from that, a 10 oz London shrunk will certainly get good use.

Hi, has anybody used Acorn shirt fabrics? Any thoughts on them?

Have several shirts made up from their fabrics. Fine quality. They're merely a shirting merchant. However, I found a couple of their designs special.

Well. It’s not exactly breathable. But, the point is, if you walk from ac car to ac office, will that matter?
Yes depending on how hot and humid it is you're still going to be sweating after like a minute.

Thank you very much - yes, have seen this, but it is dark brown with black rather than dark brown with ecru (which obviously comes out much lighter) - but thank you.
I found this at the tailor's while flicking (can't recall the mill) and is close...but has a purple deco/window pane (rather than blue), which is a bit weird.
Anyone else any ideas?

That pink/purple overchecking looks lovely in my eyes.

My reasoning is: if I’m still sweating after a minute, I’ll be sweating regardless (a fresco wouldn’t move the needle).

Now, if you’re talking about that same suit in New York, Washington DC or Philadelphia, where you’re walking everywhere. That’s a different story, I’m guessing. Although, walking in peak summer in DC makes you sweat regardless of what you have on.

My thought is fully line it as a hedge: its ready to go for the fall / spring / winter (with a coat)

18 East has some interesting summer clothing IMO. I think some people on CM would like it, but their clothing does sell out fast. The baggy nature works well with summer time and having some air flow.
