Fox just announced a limited special on what could well have been one of their Alden/LL flannels-- 18oz, mid grey chalk stripe.

I’m thinking of doing a velvet smoking jacket. Other than Albert slippers, I’ve never dealt with velvet. What book(s) would you recommend for a suitable (see what I did there?) smoking jacket velvet? Very likely green or burgundy. Thanks.

Ask the VBC customer service. They'll send you swatches. Great great fabric.

I made one for a friend's wedding last year out of the Harrison's book, came out really nicely. It was cotton and I've only had experience with those, though I hear there are still providers of silk velvet around.

I have just purchased this fabric
There is no other marking than ‘vigogna’
Has anyone come across something similar. Basically I am wondering whether it really is vicuna…

In Italian, vergogna = shame. And they even misspelled it!

Does anyone have a suggestion for where to source a cream/ ecru linen cloth with a slightly yellow/ warm tint? I'm looking for something such as the photos below.

Looked at W. Bill and none of the fabrics are quite right
