Yeah I'd probably want to get the jacket lined...
And to me that kinda defeats the purpose of the fresco. My two fresco suits are 100% wool and I’ll stick to that recipe on future orders.

I have suits i both wool/Mohair and wool fresco. Neither scratch through a shirt. They are quarter lined and I think this is wise as it makes it easier to put the jacket on. Both pants are lined to the knee.

That’s how all of my mohair/wool and fresco clothing is made up and I’ve never been bothered by scratchiness either.

More than anything I’d be curious to know how a jacket causes scratchiness. Even if you had unlined sleeves, any long sleeved, collared shirt would presumably stand as a buffer.

Anyone know where I can buy Loro Piana storm system 100% cashmere fabric? I'd like to have a navy peacoat and topcoats made.

Whatever tailor you have make them should be able to order direct. I'm not sure the Storm system fabric would be a great choice for your projects though. I made a topcoat for a customer out of the heavier of the 2 cashmere options, which is only 12.5 ounces, and it was a little lightweight. Unless you are going to have them add a quilted lining I think you'll be disappointed. The cloth is relatively expensive as well, so unless you have your heart set on it or there is a specific reason you need to use that cloth, I would maybe look elsewhere.

After three years of wearing mohair fresco I have two comments to make...1) Don't get it wet or you'll end up looking like a soaked tissue...
Does it respond well to touch-up pressing or do you need to invest in especially good dry cleaning after such an event?

Thanks. What do you recommend in 100% cashmere fabric that is wind and water resistant like the storm system?

I have yet to dry clean any of my suits. Suffice to say I put them through a lot of punishment but they don’t attract dirt easy. Apart from regular brushing and air dry which I think you should do for all suits they are relatively low maintenance

Who is going to make these for you? The standard answer is to have a conversation with your tailor/ maker about what you are looking for and then listening to their advice to accomplish your goals.

Unless you are trying to source the fabric yourself, which can be difficult, I would just ask Thick as Thieves for a recommendation. They should be able to get most things, Loro Piana included if you decide to go that way.

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
