Thanks for your feedback. Do you think Palm Beach is more of a trouser fabric instead of jacketing?

Palm Beach (wool, mohair, silk, linen blend) is for jackets. Paone has made some up. Drapes well and not wrinkly compared to linen in the same weight or heavier.

Does anyone know where I can get access to a length of this VBC “solaro”? I believe it’s the 542.201 series, although this colour is not available for order where I am.

The mohair, silk, linen blend are hopsack and the rest of the collection are plain/twill wool. The collection says jacketings so I assume the non linen blends also work well for jacketings.

Thanks for the feedback on Palm Beach though!

I’ve been to Caccioppolli in Naples, so you have me intrigued. Time for a road trip to Toronto

I think under the Michelin system it would rate three stars: "exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey".

Other 3 stars being Caccioppolli & Lafayette Saltiel (in my experience).

The swatch I was referring to for trousers is a 285g pure wool so perhaps we are talking about different things. The blend is certainly jacketing but the pure wool (am pretty sure it’s labled Palm Beach) seems like a pretty tight warp to be jacketing.. suiting or trousering to my eye.

I am indeed talking about the 280g pure wool in the Palm Beach bunch. It’s kind of unusual if they are indeed meant for trouserings as the whole bunch says jacketing. I’ll definitely email SS and get their thoughts.

Can anyone recommend fabric shops in Milan besides Il Vecchio Drappiere? I’ve visited them a couple of times and had luck, but it would be good to have a back-up or two.

I haven’t been to Sultan’s personally but have ordered probably 5 lengths of fabrics from them. My wool corduroy and white linen suit fabrics case from them as well as the brown/blue gunclub.

I didn't know they shipped to the states. Wonder if they have a list of their offerings.

Isn’t this a suiting bunch? I do like the grey glencheck for a jacket.
Not sure I would want a gun club check suit. Maybe with the rather bold glen check? Seems to me they would make better jackets.
