I'm stateside, so that probably complicates things. I don't need to offer Scabal, just thought it might be interesting. I was surprised at the pricing, but I haven't used Scabal in the past and just wanted to get an idea about the relative quality. I appreciate the offer!

My glenroyal jacket is not spongey at all. More of a rough flannel texture like Concordia mentioned. I don't like choices in the new glenroyal book.

Sponginess is in the hand of the feeler? (TWSS) It's not the spongiest tweed I have, but I find it spongier than others. I was disappointed by the additions to the Glenroyal book. There are still a couple of patterns in it that I like, but I was hoping for more interesting stuff when they said they were updating it.

If you think Scabal has a high price tag don't ask about Dormeuil. Their agent in Paris quoted me 280€/m for the Vintage Sportex...

I like Scabal. You can usually get it at a pretty decent discount.

I love my Glenroyal grey herringbone sport coat. My favorite by far.

I think I got my Vintage Sportex at 57€/m or less in a HK fabrics shop, IIRC:bounce2:

Does anyone have a source for Zegna's Cashco line of corduroy (cotton with a bit of cashmere) they would like to share?

After hemming and hawing a bit, I've decided that 2019 is the year of the cord suit for me. :)
