Any particular cloths carried by Dugdale which achieve the durability and crease-resistance of 4-ply cloths mentioned?

I might have the actual cloth number and book somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Interesting, did he simply think that Dugdale is the best? Did he elaborate on why?

He said that he liked how it would make up for me and my specific needs. He and Cristina both said it would drape like steel and they find it to be the best cloth to work with for standard suits.

Speaking of Fox, has anyone tried their new Fresco-killer? I wouldn't have thought this played to their strengths, but you never know.

I've got a RAF blue length with me. It is less prickly than Minnis Fresco, Standeven Explorer. Not made up yet but I think it will drape well.

I think Twist is a very different animal. Opaque weave, and more of a jacketing.

Out of curiosity, how does the choice of color and fabric differ for the outer back and inner lining for the vest of a 3-piece suit? And are there any preferences for the type of suit/occasion?

In some cases the outer back is made from the same fabric as the front, which would make the inner lining the same as the jacket. When is this style usually used?

If the outer back part is not made from the same fabric as the front, would the outer back and inner lining always be the same (color/fabric)? And should this color and fabric always match the inner lining of the jacket?

Cheers,

It is customary for the back of the waistcoat to have the same lining as the jacket, and have that be a close match to the suit fabric. Inside the waistcoat is more likely to be like what is used inside the jacket sleeves.

Customary doesn’t mean required, of course.

Appreciate the response.

Any particual reason why one would not use the same fabric inside the jacket sleeve? If for instance a Bemberg silk would have been used as suit lining. (if we leave out cost)

Weight, probably. Or maybe there is some value to having white with stripes where nobody can see it except the alterations guy.

At something close to parity, I could perhaps see it as such...not at nearly 3x the price.

How does the fox air compare to the rangoon?
