How do these Carlo Barbera fabrics (S'150 250g/290g respectively) compare with the usual suspects (Smiths, Lesser, etc,)?

Not sure but if you're looking for light weight summery fabrics check out Lovat Mills The Bard collection. I believe it's in the same vein as the London Lounge piuma and brisa.

Online source? Never heard about that book.

I'm just looking at what is available regarding worsted suitings. I'm not planing to acquire anything in the short term, but at some point my worsted suits will need replace and I'm contemplating options. Now I'm quite focused with seasonal suits and odd jackets.

My question was more about how do Barbera suitings perform.

The Assoluto ones I have had in blue are stiffer than the usual soft ones Barbera does.

@lordsuperb what's the weight on the Bard collection? Brisa/Piuma weight?

I checked the HoE website, but I'm having a heard time visualizing the swatches made up. I mean with navy blue it is pretty easy, but I just can't see how the gray stuff will get made up. Here are some I've found in solid gray (H. Lesser No. 311):

I've also been looking at some PoW patterns:

I don't know, I may just end up going with a mid-gray flannel.

P.S. Sorry if the pics in my post are too big - I am struggling a bit with the new forum format. :embar:

Indeed, @edmorel always has great stuff and I just checked out what he has listed. Very nice and along the lines of what I'm looking for! Unfortunately being located in Europe, I am afraid I will be hit with a stiff duty if I order from him. But maybe it's worth it.

Yeah, I have plenty of flannel trousers and enjoy wearing them, but no flannel suits. I just thought it might not be as versatile as a worsted.

Hmmm, going to inquire with Lovat. If reading their site correctly, they require 40-70 (unsure what causes the wide gap) meters for an order to be made up

Does that Bard book exist in stock, or on the street anywhere?
