Sorry, that was asinine. What I meant to say was that after the last nitpicker thread, I expected this kind of response, so I made this post as a sort of self-depreciating joke. 'Course the classy folks here used it to jump on me, again--maybe it was too subtle for them. I don't know. That's not to say I'm not genuinely annoyed that the fabric isn't what I was expecting. There's nothing special about it--I got it from Philips Boyne. $20 for a 3-yard cut and they'll sell to anybody, you just have to call them and ask.

Holy crap what a horrible website.

Have you been there, or met with one of their sales reps? Picking out swatches from this looks like a giant PITA.

I like the picture of the building on the website. They crudely photoshopped the grass to patch holes in the lawn.

I would not recommend most of what they sell, which is pretty ordinary. The oxfords are great, though, very Brooks Brothersish, and it shouldn't be too hard to navigate since they only really sell solid colors and stripes.

A couple of suitings, and a couple of jacketings.
Minnis Fresco in mid-grey, Minnis brown flannel, P&H, and Hardy, 19 oz Alsport, which is apparently bulletproof.

    That Hardy is sublime.

Love the Minnis flannel but all are great. Any of them going to LH?

It's actually 0512. I have a sharkskin in a color close to 0511, and wanted something a little darker.

Nothing at the moment. Still looking for a brown suiting fabric that I can wear more than 2 months out of the year in Atlanta. Thinking about pulling the trigger on a few frescos for summer - tobacco, dolphin gray and air force blue. Also need to add a windowpane suit of some sort - not a single one in the wardrobe today.

I'm all filled up on tweed and winter suitings.

I don't think so. I'm probably going to use Mina and Manuel Martinez for these. I just placed an order with LH for a 260g steel blue pinstripe and a 340g grey flannel chalk stripe. Awaiting some PoW swatches from LH and will probably do one of those too. I need some heavier weight stuff and I want to get started on that now so I can have it by the fall.

I am giving strong consideration to these, particularly the lighter of the two, from one of the Rubinacci bunches. Please disregard the HK P7 case in teh background. [IMG]

Not sure, likely woodhouse dead stock that Rubinacci has a hold off.
