It's just a money reason. I also want to try other SR tailors before settling on one. Luxire is a LOT cheaper and I really think the fit is more than adequate. This feeling may change, but until then I'll wear an overcoat from them when it's cold.

Looks like the original LL Gunclub

Definitely not. The ground in the cloth above is much lighter and more yellow. The LL gunclub had a dark tan ground with a purplish overtone.

Agreed, not the original LL GC. I have it, still unfunded after all these years. And no plans to fund it at this point.

Does someone have an experience with the "five star" bunch from Drapers ? More specificly with the brown houndstooth fabric.

I don't have that cloth in particular. But the Five Star book is excellent and the cloths make up really well as you'd expect from Drapers.

Sup gang.

Need recommendations for a blue woolen flannel with widely spaced white chalk stripes. Or a plain grey woolen flannel glen plain, without overcheck. Or anything.

Hope Manton remembers he gave me right of first refusal over his LL triple check.

Fox has one

And then the LL collection, which is something darker and heavier.

Same with grey glen check

+1 on the Fox.

Drapers also has a wide chalk stripe from Lady San Felice and Flannel - but IMO its a bit more rustic/more nap, so might not be as conservative business dress as the Fox.

The 18 oz LL flannel drapes like iron but wears quite hot. Not if I would get it again.

I'm so tempted to give a few LLs a go, despite living in Los Angeles

Justification can be that they can serve as travel suits for business and holidays when visiting climates actually worthy of 18 ounce fabric.

Are you sure that is not just washout from the flash?

Looks so very different that I really, really doubt it.
