Sadly I learned this morning while visiting his Georgetown shop that Mr. William Field has passed away. He was a kind gentleman and an excellent tailor. I regret that I only was able to work with him on one suit, but I know his outstanding work will be carried on by his son, Will.

Medwards has posted a thread on AskAndy but I did not see one here. I know that many of us who participate on this board have worked with Mr. Field over the years.

My understanding is that there will be a memorial service next Saturday followed by a get together for Mr. Field's friends at a local restaurant. More details are available at AskAndy.

My best wishes for his family in this difficult time.

That is truly sad news. I just went in for my 2nd fitting on a suit and jacket last week. He was a nice man and a great tailor.
