Did pure food and Wine turn into anything? I feel like I walked by this week and it was still shuttered.

I thought it was now the tea room/cigar bar, no? I could have my buildings mixed up - I'm thinking of the first place that fronts on Irving, east side north of 17th - entrance is street level but there is a stoop for the Inn next to it? :confused2:

The tea place is up the stoop, Pure Food and Wine was down the stoop. There was Pure Food and Wine down the stoop and I think up a building was a really trashy, expensive cocktail bar called Cibar that went defunct years back.

Walking past Rao's today on my way to Target to pick up something and noticed a bunch of Maybachs, which I don't usually see around there. I see a group doing their goodbyes on the corner and spot Woody Allen stepping into one of the Maybachs with Soon-Yi following behind. Did not catch who they were saying bye to.
Were any of them wearing pink pants?

Update! Cibar isn't defunct, it was renovated, but still looks defunct and empty.

I saw Little Richard climbing out of an Escalade outside the downtown hotel where he used to keep a penthouse. He had an entourage of bald dudes in gold chains and track suits carrying his garment bags inside. He was decked out in full stage costume, and looked like he was made of wax. King of rock and roll.

I used to see Russel Simmons (? Run, of Run D.M.C.) going in and out of his bldg on Liberty St all the time. Sometimes it would be a Little Richard-style happening, complete w/ paparazzi, other times it was just him carrying a Duane Read bag or some takeout

You mean Joseph Simmons? Though Russell is arguably more famous.

Joseph is Run of Run DMC.
Russell is the co-founder of Def Jam/RUSH/etc.

That was Russ. He has/had an apartment on Liberty St.
