Evander Hoyfield in the Heights area of Houston.

Really nice and positive guy. Shorter than I thought he would be but obviously still in shape.

Though he has his main residence and assets in Atlanta I believe, I think Holyfield has a place in Houston too.

I met him in Atlanta (met = exchanged a very few words when we were waiting for a table at a restaurant)

He's listed as 6' 2 & 1/2" tall. Didn't seem like it to me. What do you think?

Athletes in general ( and particularly basketball players ) fudge on height and weight figures I think.

not really an "unexpected encounter" so to speak, but I worked in a record store in Seattle in the 90's. Best sale ever was a stack of really poppy electronic stuff (St. Etienne, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure) to Mark Lanegan.

Had a drink with Ewan McGregor during the TIFF at the Roof Lounge in Toronto.

Took an unbelieve amount of restraint to NOT say "may the force be with you" when leaving.

It was ages ago and I didnt think about his height, but I recall thinking that I expected him to be bigger.

I cant imagine that its very easy for boxers to fudge height / weight

    Not a celebrity at all...

But yesterday I saw that guy who won the Esquire best dressed man challenge thing.

Dan T...... the guy who defeated Mafoofan.

He was at that Levi's store in Soho

He is pretty tall and dresses like he came out of a J.Crew catalog.

That would be amazing, even more epic if you got it on film.

Saw the Spice Girls in a limo just before they struck it big ten years ago with that stupid song. The blonde one and the black one were standing through the roof without shirts. Three of us standing there on the corner in London, England, all with cameras in our pockets, and no one thought to take a picture as they drove by.

Also ran into Ricky Schroeder from Silver Spoons before he became big again on NYPD Blue. Standing in line at a TCBY at the Mailbu Ralph's shopping center. We were a bunch of pricks making jokes like "I bet all has-been child stars are big fucking losers" and "I bet they make no money and have to buy their own frozen yogurt."

Drank scotch with John Dimaggio. The guy is one of the funniest people I've ever met.
That's awsume. I've heard from a few people who've met him that he was really down to earth and funny. [IMG]

I unknowingly meet Gore Vidal in the UCLA library. He was doing a book signing so I happened to go to his section in the stacks. An old man in an equally old tweed jacket approached me and said, "oh, I'm so glad someone as young as you enjoys my work." He acted very strangely. [IMG] Not knowing what Gore Vidal looked like, I assumed he was some crazy nut hanging around the library. I just said, "oh yes, I enjoyed both 1776 and Burr". He smiled then walked away. The next time I saw him, he was signing my book. I felt like such an ass.
