A co-worker of a friend of mine who is asian asked him if he had to "get used to" all of the Asians when he moved to New York. He was puzzled.

Sorry, this is a little confusing. Who is asian?

* :confused:

** I have not seen it, but Steve Earle also plays the been-ther-done-that drug counselor on "The Wire"

So I went to the tiny Allen Edmonds store off Madison Ave. in midtown Manhattan yesterday afternoon to kill some time before meeting the wife for dinner.

In walks Steve Weatherford - the NY Giants punter, who was great in the Super Bowl run. So great that that he got the franchise tag and will be paid $2.5 million a year.

He was really cool with the SA helping him. The SA didn't remember his name, but kept introducing him enthusiastically to his colleagues as "the Giants punter."

I left before he bought anything, but he was trying on something two-toned like the Broadstreet.

Regarding my Denzel Washington story, I should clarify that Washington wasn't being narcissistic, he was just accustomed to people recognizing and staring at him.

You should have told him to shop at a good shoe store.

Sandra Fluke, or someone who looks a lot like her, rode the same bus as me this morning. Should I approach? I mean, I know she's on the Pill, right? :lol:

Ran into journalist Juan Williams at the San Diego airport a couple weeks ago. He was just standing near the baggage area on his phone and no one seemed to recognized him. After he hung up I said hello, introduced myself and told him I appreciated his work on NPR and to say "Hi" to Bill (O'Reilly) for me (not sure if he caught my sarcasm here!) Anyway, he was very polite and said some nice words to me, got in the blacked-out Suburban waiting for him and went on his way.

Sandra Fluke is the NYU Law student Rush (GasBag) Limbaugh called a slut... so not really a celeb.

Juan Williams is an Emmy-winning journalist from the Washington Post, WSJ, NYT, White House Correspondent, NPR senior analyst and current Fox News analyst. He's on the national news almost daily so he's pretty well known.

Steve Weatherford? Juan Williams?

Come on, guys. This isn't Dancing With the Stars. Enough with the D-listers and has-beens.
