Uneven colors on Shell Cordovan

These are my brand new AE Bradley shell cordovans.

Is the color streaking, or uneven dye colors, here normal? These are great shoes, but this seems a little more than I would have expected, no? Particularly the lower shoe in this picture.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it, not very unusual for shell.

How about some pics from the front and top?

Looks similar to many of my shell shoes. I'd say it's typical for the shell of most brands, AE and Alden in particular.

Thanks, gentlemen. The reassurance is appreciated. They're my first pair of shells.

Nice shoes, look good. How common are cordovan shoes in Pakistan btw?

A virtue of shell is its relative impermeability. A vice of shell is that because of that very impermeability it takes dyes unevenly.

Whoa! I gotta update my profile. I love to read when I can, but am often off-line for extended periods. Got my butt outta the NWFP last year. Mostly back to working in SE Asia, but currently visiting middle USA. It's been lovely. I'm upgrading several types of wardrobes long unneeded. Dress shoes, for one. Then I'll probably go back to parts of Asia where they aren't needed again.

Here are several more shots. The light wasn't good, so there's flash on these. Enough have said this is fine, so I'm cool with it. Now it is merely interesting. If you're not holding the shoe, it really isn't apparently, although the spot at the toe leaves a hint that you haven't polished your fine dress shoes.

Flash burn. I'll take another in a few months.

Omigod, take them back immediately. This defective condition is referred to as Arid Gluteun stress, a phenomenon where scrap grade C or worse uncertified shell accidentally gets through to production and when lasted and dyed, the low quality binder fibers accelerate in rotting from within and manifests initially into different shades on surface before cracking and coming off seams in a matter of a few months.

I have no doubt that it was meant to be humorous. I get it.

But, as they are my first pair of shell, I'd never even handled shell cordovan leather before. So, perhaps a dumb question to those with extensive experience.

I appreciate all the other comments more, obviously.
