Random question. I like undarted jackets. Occasionally, I’d like to take out a jacket and/or the dart really messes with the pattern. Wondering if this is possible or would it ruin the jacket somehow? I get there may be holes where the jacket was stitched given the nature of the material. It would make the waist less tapered as well. Would it throw off the fit in any other significant way!

I assume you can redart a jacket if the alterations fails. Thoughts?

Majority of darts are cut so it’s not a whole cloth when you unstitch a dart. Think of a dart as a seam joining two pieces of cloth. The dart goes into and finishes inside the pocket pipe. Another reason it won’t work.
