Wear only to prevent nipple from showing.

Well my nipples don't show through my shirts. haha.

So today I took your advice and I will not be wearing under shirts with my polos anymore. As I saw other people with the undershirts then look at it without a undershirt I knew the people here were right.

Man, even without the thinly veiled racism this post is a master class in being a stupid asshole.

It's "ignorant" and "low-class" to wear an undershirt with a polo? Get a grip.

Off the top of my head:
    - it's a little chilly but I want my arms bare (layering)
    - don't want anyone to see wet pits (if I sweat alot)
    - don't want polo to end up with pit stains (fabric protection thanks to disposable tee underneath)
    - extra layer of odor protection (if I get extra smelly when I sweat)
    - color coordination of some sort (I wore a red tee under a white polo last Canada Day)

yeah, I was going to edit that one...

I agree it was uncalled for, but it is just what I see looking around.

I also disagree with all your reasons for doing it yourself. Seems pretty silly to me.

Seriously, "I disagree with those reasons"? Well why would I (or the OP) give half a crap? Maybe some people just want to hide their chest hair, who the hell knows. Either you wear your polo shirt with an undershirt or without, it's one thing to recommend one it's another to call everyone who doesn't see it precisely your way a low-class retard. What a worldview you've got.

How many things do you think you do/wear that people around you think are weird?
If you're on SF, chances are there are plenty, whether you know or not.

Subjectivity -- read up on it.

I'll wager a lot of people in your school don't bathe frequently or brush their teeth either. Should you let your teeth rot and stink too? Think for yourself. Be a leader and not a follower.
Polo shirts are not worn with undershirts. Teach them, and if they won't listen, stand your ground with a smile. Welcome to Styleforum.

Maybe you should try the triple layer popped polo shirt combo in red white red. It shows better color combination.

The fact of the matter is that the polo shirt was invented as a sport shirt, and was intended to be sweat in, that is why they are usually made of knit cotton. A polo shirt is worn to give an athletic look to an outfit (I'm ready to play tennis, golf, etc. at a moments notice). You can certainly wear an undershirt with a polo if you want, but I believe you would be ignoring the intent and design of the shirt.

i take it you're not "ethnic" then? you'd be the first person who could pull that off.
op never mentioned not washing the polo -- this is a prime example of unrelated personal issues added to the mix. cheers.

which is what so many people do in regard to (work)boots that have originally been intended as workwear -- reinterpretations are perfectly legitimate, ultimately it depends on how good it looks on the wearer. then again, polos are not my cup of tea, anyway.
