A V-neck can be worn open collar if the V is low enough and the dress shirt is not super thin cotton.

Just my $0.02.

The under shirt is personal preference.

Pros
- No pit stains on the shirt
- You can wear it twice before washing
- Should you need to change (due to spills at lunch or just boredom) your secretary wont look at your hairy nipples

Cons
- Extra layer = extra heat and more sweat
- Can't be worn open-collar
- Don't get the feel that lux fabric on your skin
- More washing/Ironing

-1. Wash shirts after EVERY wear!

I can't believe anyone either irons OR hangs their undershirts to make sure there are no wrinkles. It's an undershirt, no one's going to see it. Also, who would ever get fancy undershirts? I can understand getting nicer cotton or synthetic blends if you like that those wick sweat better or don't make you overheat in the summer, but an actual luxury undershirt is LOL.

And either way, if your shirt is thin enough that undershirt wrinkles are visible through it, then yeah you definitely need to wear an undershirt so people can't see every chest hair through your shirt.

Lest you think I'm a dirty heathen, I definitely wash shirts every time I wear them.
