    Hi,

any suggestions on retailers or manufacturers that sell quality Maple, Malacca, or Whangee handle umbrellas?
I'm aware of Fox and Swaine Adeney, but investigating others for possible collaborations.

    thanks.

The Brigg is the best in my opinion. James Smith and Fox would be my second choice. However, if I was on a budget or didn't want to spend too much on an umbrella, I'd go with London Undercover.

Fox is still a quality Umbrella right?

All these top umbrellas are much of a muchness right? Preference and style, rather than construction and quality?

Just picked up a Pasotti Ombrelli with a one piece chestnut handle. Beautifully made, and endless possibilities for customisation.

I have umbrellas by Maglia, James Smith, brigg, and talarico, and think that the quibble about differences are much ado about nothing.

Italian umbrellas are, however, cheaper. Horn ferrules and silk-blend canopies for eg, w/o additional charges and priced lower than Brigg or Smith that have nylon canopies.

    You haven't tried Fox!

However, I am sure your comments are spot on. They are all quality umbrellas and if showed some love, will last many a year.

I personally think Davek Umbrellas are very nice, and they also come nicely with a lifetime warranty. I'd check 'em out if you have an opportunity to.
