A couple of questions for those of you who have gone from the US to UK within the last year...

I've heard ATM withdrawals are the best way to go in terms of exchanging money, thoughts?

Also, anybody have any cool shopping spots in London and/or Worcester?

yes, the popular advice is that ATMs are best way to get cash

I just recently converted a bunch of US dollars to GBP at my local Wells Fargo for a trip to London in 2.5 weeks and they give you the current exchange with no fees so it was great. figure best to have some cash while the exchange rate is still gold, in case it starts creeping upwards. If it gets even better then oh well, still good...that's the risk you take

It would have cost me $1000 more last year this time to get the same amount of pounds as I did this week.

I used to live near Worcester: it's a really nice place, with quite a few interesting sites and such, but not much in the way of shopping, aside from the regular mid-market stuff. I think it would be better to save up and shop in London, where there is far more choice: at least, that's what I used to do!
