Hi,..I have some nice handwoven tweed. Is there a good M2m facility anywhere in the Uk..where they will allow you to supply your own cloth? ( CMT ). As well as jackets ..I would like to have a 3/4 length coat made up..... Can anyone recommend where I could try...and give any opinions on various blocks available?..thanks, Rowly.

Ede & Ravenscroft certainly used to accept CMT orders for MTM as of 2-3 years ago; I expect they still do. They use a factory in Mauritius for their MTM, but don't let that put you off. Wensum know what they're doing (and are also used by some other houses for their MTM) and you'll get a good jacket for the price at the end of the process. The pattern is essentially middle-of-the-road Savile Row: moderate structure, pretty trim and clean. You can customise the order quite a bit if you and the chap filling out the form know what you're doing (esp. once you've had some experience from the outcome of previous orders), and of course Ede can always tweak various things a bit once the order's back.

I'm sure other houses also accept CMT MTM, but I only have significant experience with Ede.

Thanks, I actually like Ede's block and have a few of their rtw's. I know they do have m2m for suits...and at good prices in the sales, although I have not availed yet...as I'd rather pay a bit extra for full bespoke. However, I have some nice handwoven tweed that is excellent value and don't see much need to go bespoke with this. Also, would you know if they do m2m for a 3/4 lenght coat...flared and tailored..to the knee, to be worn instead of a jacket?...That would really interest me....I'm thinking tweed for this ( more the type used by Cordings etc. )..... !thanks, Rowly.
