I always thought that a single vent was traditional for blazers. However, I prefer side vents on all jackets. I think they look better on me.

I wore single vents for most of my life until I bought an English tweed suit with double vents. I now prefer double vents on suits and sport jackets however I still have a few single vent and one ventless jacket.

Any of them. Side vents are the "in" thing right now, but none of those choices would look wrong.

And a single center vent looks bad if you ever reach for anything in your trouser pockets. It shows your ass.

Go for side vents.

I have all three types, but prefer the side vents as well.

I also find the side vents much more elegant... More functional as well...

I never understood this line of argument. So what if it shows your ass. I too prefer side vents, but not for this reason. Maybe I just have a nicer ass than most.

I was watching one of the later Thin Man movies today dated 1944. You can see the influence the war was having on dress as 3 piece, DB's were both disappearing and the notch lapel sport coats start showing up more prominently

And in this case- they were all ventless and looked great. I'm tempted to do that but we all know the issues of getting in/out of cars etc and having no vents.

+1 for side vents for suits. Single vent for blazers. Side vents tend to look a little too avant-garde for blazers & sport coats in my opinion.
