No, I agree the douche is strong with this one. He writes a weekly column in the FT cleverly called "Fast Lane" and every week he manages to unintentionally come off as a complete jackass. Of course, I enjoy reading them immensely.

Canadians don't have an accent. Americans do. Maybe French Canadians but we don't count them.

I met him once.

He's a bright, ambitious, self-confident individual, who has made a bit of a success of himself.

Monocle isn't perfect, but it's a nice product. I haven't read his FT column.

The look is a rather self-conscious take on the media/creative thing. But no more self-conscious than most SF members.

I don't hold it against him that his name sounds like something out of a bad novel.

He is one of just a handful of publishers that regularly gives global artisan tailors and craftsman international exposure. Most of the publishing world won't give you a nod unless you are a major advertiser.

He's a stylish douche with limited literary skills that spends all day agonising over clothing options so we don't have to. Like most of the people on this forum come to think of it. But that doesn't prevent his editorials (or SF badinage) from being compelling reading.
