If Mayweather fights Martinez, it will be a nasty KO by Martinez. Dude is a legit MW and he's going to fight a small WW?

I don't think it will happen, Sergio isn't a draw in boxing and we all know Mayweather only fights BIG names and in turn makes a BIG fight.

I didn't say anything about Mayweather's influence within the boxing organizations. I'm just saying that he and Manny are both idiots who deserve to knock each other into permanent silliness.

Martinez is much bigger, and has serious speed and power, as well as a style for which it would be difficult to prepare. Mayweather is a pretty small WW, and his offence is not that amazing at the higher weight category. I don't see Floyd being either that gutsy or even that arrogant.

they don't have to, looks like the silliness are indeed permanent for both of them.

"We explored the Pacquiao fight," Penagaricano said. "We discussed it for several days but there was no agreement. The weight was an issue and we didn't agree on all relevant aspects of the deal, so at the end, there was no agreement. After that didn't work out, we had a had a short list of candidates and Miguel picked Trout.

Cotto's next fight on free TV in December. A true "fans fighter"

Watching the replay of the PBF vs Hatton fight on MSG(this isn't the HBO Lampley call.)
PBF can do it all. One of the best fighters I have ever seen...and I have seen many!

The Judah, Oscar, and Hatton are my favorite Mayweather bouts. Hatton's fanbase that night made for the best fight atmosphere I ever seen.

We have some great boxing coming up this and next month.

    Agree re upcoming fights.

MSG is replaying Pac vs JMM 2 later tonight.

My favorite PBF fight was probably vs Gatti. I alo have it on DVD. Just total domination and destruction. And it's not as it I don't like Gatti. I went to see him fight many times in Atlantic City.

Tycoon...who do you like next week: Chavez Jr vs Martinez?

I don't know if you can get Ring magazine where you are...very good articles in the most recent issue. Shane Mosley lists the best puncher/defender/strongest/fastest/etc fighters in each category that he faced. Also a good article about the clusterfuck that is the double-header on next wknd.

I got Martinez knocking out Julio's son but not without taking a bit of punishment himself first. You? What happens next for Martinez after that should be interesting. Beating up Julio's son can be seen as brand building. Big names like Floyd and Cotto have played with the idea of facing Martinez.

Gonna be a good fight. Jr looked good against the Irish dude.....though he wasn't Martinez. Jr has the reach and a brutal inside game.....though he may not get to stand against the ropes and bang with Martinez. I'm going to be a spectator for that one.

I like Ward tomorrow and also Canelo next week.....

    good like on Ward.

Do you live in Cali or New York? This isn't the first time I seen you talk about going to fights live.

great performance by Ward. If boxing needs to be carried on anyone's shoulders in the future, it'll definitely be Ward not Donaire.

    Floyd
    Andre
    Juan
    Sergio
    manny

    Hey...I live in NY.
When I said that "I was going to be a spectator" for the Jr vs Martinez fight, I meant that I am just going to watch w/o picking either as the winner.
I do go to as many fights as I can(was at the Cotto vs Marg rematch at MSG in Dec.) That one(Jr vs martinez) isn't one that I will attend in person. I will be heading back to MSG to see Cotto vs Trout in Dec again...

Yep good performance from Martinez. He showed some brilliant versatility rivaling that of Ward and Floyd although nowhere near as polished. I was relieved he didn't get robbed and rightfully got the decision victory.

This fight appeared to do well. Now Sergio's name will seriously be in the mix for the stars of boxing like Floyd, Cotto, and Alvarez.

12th round of martinez vs chavez HOLY SHIT

besides the 6th round, chavez was looking bummy the entire night. but god damn did he make up for it by nearly knocking martinez the fuck out in the last round

i don't know how martinez managed to stay on his feet cause he was getting hit flush after the knock down

I didn't see more than 10 min of 24/7 leading up to this fight. A friend told me that Jr blew off training with Freddy Roach during the show. And I noticed that FR was not saying much in his corner during most of the fight. Appr round 8/9, he did say, you need a KO to win!

Freddy should FIRE him. He got his payday and he should move on. JC thought he was better than he was.

I don't know if I would take a rematch if I was SM!

    I hope a rematch doesn't happen.

Pretty Boy Floyd vs Sex Bomb Sergio in the first half of next year ftw

It looks like Marquez vs manny is official now. Hopefully, Juan can take his justice and rightfully get a decision win. I expect this fight to be a shittier version of their 3rd fight.

I was actually thinking Ward vs Sergio at a catch weight. But Ward probably won't want to come down in weight

    Same here.

It doesn't take much to figure out the Marquez and Bradley options happened so manny and arum can make money on rematch options. Luckily for bob, Mart-Chavez also had that eventful 12th round.

manny fights were cool until after Cotto. Then he got back on track with the Marquez fight although he waited a long time hoping to age and old Marquez out, but then that robbery happened. Bradley wasn't a bad opponent either.
