Do you like two-tone paint-jobs on cars? Personally I think they're great although they are limited to older cars as new cars don't have the lines.

I don't think this Mercedes has an original paint-job though. The hubcaps don't match the roof.

I've seen some new roadster type cars with a two-tone look since the soft-top was another color. On new cars, you get something awful like this:

I have no problem with the two-tone-ness of the Bugatti Veyron, it echoes many old Bugattis:

Its overall design is open to criticism, but no more or less than every new car.

or maybe the Veyron is giving an aesthetic nod to that most formiddable of beasts, the '67 Morris Minor Pick-up:

They also of course did a half timber car, far more charming than the monstrous American Station-wagon.

As bad as that Bugatti is, the sad thing is that it's better looking than seventy-five percent of cars of a single color.

I had the exact same opinion until last day when I saw the small Lancia Y (it's a city-car) in a two-tone model, orange and an unpolished dark grey (I don't care very much for the more common white-strawberry combination). It was very stylish, almost sartorial. I guess it was a special order or whatever since I can't find any picture of it on the Internet.
