Hi all. Not sure if these are unique ones, but hopefully they will be different from the general wedding questions that are posted on here.

My fiance and I are getting married next January (at night), and I'm going with a classic black tux - peak lapel, black bow tie, etc. The bridal party will be small - two on each side. For me, it's going to be my younger (21 -year-old) cousin and her younger (19-year-old) brother. Additionally, however, I'm going to be including close friends in pictures and spending the day with me before the ceremony.

My two questions are thus:

1. What do I ask my "groomsmen" to wear? I'll be giving them the option to go with whatever they'd like, but I'm sure they will ask me my preference since, although both entering finance and slowly building their wardrobes, they likely won't have a clue what to wear to a wedding outside the generic "everyone rents the same tux and tie" they've experienced. I'm not sure if I should just have them wear charcoal grey suits with a white shirt and their choice of tie, or rent a tux since I'll be wearing one. I'm also not sure how it will look if I'm the only one with a bow tie.

2. What do I ask my "non-groomsmen" to wear? They won't be standing with me during the ceremony, but they will be involved in everything else - photos, spending the day with me, etc. Same questions apply as the above, I suppose.

I'm quite interested in your thoughts, including questions. What do you recommend? What questions come to mind that I haven't addressed? What should I be thinking of that it doesn't seem I am?

Thank you in advance.

1) I was in a similar situation, and asked my groomsmen to wear black tie. You can get a decent rig, for about 2-3x the price of rentals, when it's all in, and frankly, you will have a tux that you can keep, that you know will look good, and that you will probably wear again.

2) Everyone else, a charcoal suit is good, and again, will serve them in good stead.

Thanks for that. My only concern is that they are fairly young to feel comfortable investing in a decent tux. Maybe I'll tell them they can choose their own tux to rent.
