For your information. I still think the McKay is the nicest out of the lot, but I wouldnt mind wearing the monks below as a summer shoe:

I tried on a pair of the monks on Friday at the Beverly Hills RL store. They're on the 89 last, they run a little large IMO, and they are *very* nice.

The black or cordovan plaintoe Darlton hasn't been available on the site for a while. I wonder if they'd rather sell Carlson Italian calfskin bluchers

The RLPL tassle loafer, with its low vamp, is very disappointing.

Are RLPL dress shoes still made by Edward Green?

Looks like it's on the same last as the Barksdale, but with a much lower vamp. I agree - not aesthetically pleasing.

Some are made by EG and some are made by C&J.

I thought all the Purple Label shoes were made by EG; has this changed recently?

I'm basing that on C&J shoes I've seen at the Polo mansion on Madison. Now that I think about it, I don't recall whether those C&Js were marked Purple Label or not. Since all the RLPL shoes on their website are EG, perhaps I'm mistaken.

The C&Js are not Purple Label are and are at the next lower price point.
