Go to North Beach to Pulcinella. They have authentic food from Naples including pizza. 641 Vallejo street right off of Columbus.

Stop in Campton Place, in the bar, for a quite drink after shopping and sightseeing.

    Beautiful city.

The Avedon show was great - highly recommend. Had a fairly good meal at place called Bar Tartine. Great shopping around US, but found that Wilkes was somewhat tired.

Look forward to returning. Thanks for all the suggestions.

The Mission has some good spots to eat, authentic Mexican especially. Also has some cool bars.

I'm heading up in a few weeks to the Bay Area and before I've only been to Farolito for mission style burritos...what are some other good joints?

Tommy's Joynt may be an entertaining time but the food is awful. The place is like a Disneyfied version of a soup kitchen for yuppies and tourists.

Well, maybe so, but I was a tourist and a bunch of us went there in September for an entertaining lunch. I didn't think the turkey was bad. It was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" so we just went there for kicks. [IMG]
