Yes, just about, if it is going to be a SB and doesn't have a large pattern. And if the tailor isn't wasteful.

Thank you. I figured it would be tight, but since the tailor has done things for me before, I figure he has my pattern "down" and should be able to squeeze my a SB, side vented jacket out of the fabric.

Whoopee meant the size of the pattern on the material to be cut. Pattern matching can add up to a half yard to the total amount needed for a jacket.

    Edmorel-

Which tailor do you plan on using in NYC? I am think of ordering some fabric and taking it somewhere to be made into a blazer. i know there have been some serious threads on NYC tailors, but was wondering who you would use.

What size of fabric is a safe bet for making a sport coat (40S)? I've been looking at fabric, and would like to know how much to buy.

Ask your tailor. But 2.5 yards, plus 1/4 yard for pattern matching and/or DB, will be more than enough. I would go with that figure for your first CMT coat, just to be safe.
