I don't have all day to watch TV, and at this point I don't even have cable since I just never used it, but I'll take a bit out of the end of the day to sit down, unwind, and watch a TV show.

What do you watch? Be it escapism, news, educational, or something else - what is worth your time?

I don't have any TV channels at home. I mostly watch DVDs or Netflix. Netflix is great for independent and foreign movies.

Good show - The Good Wife - Damages (slow, but really good)
Interesting - Lie to Me
Comedy - How I Met Your Mother
Guilty Pleasure - Jersey Shore

I heard that Hawaii 5-0 is actually good. Been told Boardwalk Empire is incredible.

For netflix: Californication, The League (must see for fantasy football fans)

I have not had cable in over a year and haven't skipped a beat. I have a hulu account, I got my netflix account, I got hrtvlive.com for my hoes racing 24 x 7 lol, and I'm good to go. Everything else I watch to watch I can download (real time with bill mahar, law and order svu/ci) My internet / entertainment bill a month is $40 dollars. It was 169 a month in 2008.

My only gripe, is netflix lacks alot of instant movies on the documentaries, I"m a documentary nutt, after the first 5 or so, the real good ones you gotta get delivered.

I just got Netflix a few weeks ago, and I have been watching Anthony Bourdain No Reservations, Man vs. Food, The Office, Arrested Development, and lots of crappy movies.

Does anyone know when Netflix releases new movies to watch instantly?

I need to watch NBA basketball. Watching on your laptop kind of sucks.

Oh yeah I live alone. I leave the TV on whenever I'm home as background noise. I don't really sit on the couch and watch TV though, usually doing other stuff, surf online, work, etc.

Friday Night Lights was the best show on TV. The final episode just aired and I have it recorded, haven't watched it yet.

When given the choice, I almost always watch Seinfeld if it's on TV. I have all the seasons of Curb so I'll put those on pretty often.

Always watch Mad Men when it's on. Dexter too.

Tons of TV shows to watch on Netflix instant too.

+1. Sports is the only reason we're still slaves to Comcast. If it weren't for baseball and basketball, I'd have no problem ditching cable altogether and just relying on Netflix, Hulu, etc. ******* monopolies and their broadcasting rights....

I just dont have time for TV/Movies like i use to.

Until I was about 25 I use to watch an insane amount
of TV and movies.

Now in my 30's i dont think i watch more than 2 hours in a week.

I try to stick with stuff that is gonna better my life or be info-tainment

I like CurrentTV, some of the stuff on Hulu is good

Not much. I watch "The Mentalist" sometimes and get my news from BBC America. I understand it is "US-targeted news", but that's the best I can get on TV.
