Tuxedo

Hi guys, I am currently commissioning a midnight blue tuxedo for my first formal attire. From reading this forum, I understand that midnight blue could be more formal than black, since it looks 'darker' compared to regular black in night environment.

Now when I see online pictures, it seems that midnight blue tux always comes with black satin lapel and black jetted pockets. Is it considered "acceptable" for formal environment? Or should the lapel and the pocket has the same color as the tux fabric but in satin? Or it doesn't matter at all?

Also, what should be the color of the button? Black or midnight blue?

I think I like the black shawl lapel with black lining on the jetted pocket more. But my tailor insisted on the lapel and pockets being the same color as the tux fabric (midnight blue), since he never made any midnight blue tux with black lapel before..

If you know how you like it, tell him to make it as you want. Have you been with this tailor long? Do you have other items from him?
