What is a fair price for a Super 150's, peak lapel, unvented, fully canvassed tuxedo?

Waaay too little info. A lot more goes into value than just that. Brand/model would help to understand quality of construction. Now Be Cool, ok?

Hard to guess without brand, so it becomes truly a guess.

Just based on what I've seen around, I've never seen a fully canvassed tuxedo below at least a few grand, new. Armanis run around three retail. I think BBBF is in the same area. Closest ballpark I can drum up. Used/resale is a crapshoot.

Say it were Canali. Now say it were Corneliani. Now say it was PRL. Finally, say it was Isaia. Now hazard a guess.

Assuming this is OTR, brand new, then minimum $1500 retail, plus tailoring.

I bought my super 100's Paul Stuart NWT for $475. peak, unvented, 1 button. I'm not sure you want super 150's for a tuxedo?

this was @ Keezars in Cambridge, MA, kind of like a downscale, ramshackle Filenes Basement

full retail is around $2k I think for a PS tux

I asked because I'm in the market for a tuxedo and have an opportunity to buy a NWT, SB, 1 button, peak lapel, jeted pocket, unvented, fully canvassed, made in Italy (mid-tier), Super 150's tuxedo for under $900. And while I didn't want to spend that much, it seems like a fair deal for a classic garment.

Jos. A. Bank has this, except Super 120's and made in a sweatshop, for $250. Also grosgrain lapels, no belt loops, single pleat pants, for 1000% SF approval. Except for the brand...

No.

Why do you require full canvas? Will you be wearing it often? If not, the rigid confines of proper suiting can be (partially) abandoned for a piece that will be worn a few times a year. A half canvassed BB 1818 Tux in the Fitzgerald cut is sub $1000, made of solid materials without being excessive and has a modern-ish cut without being susceptible to heavy changes in fashion.

But the JAB is a seriously good deal. It is 100% "correct" without being an allowable brand. You could always use the leftover money to buy formal pumps.

Gilt had their Martin Greenfield OTR that matched this description for a grand, which is the same price I paid for my Zegna at the outlets. So, I'd say $6-800 for something that isn't backed by a maker's reputation/marked up due to a brand name and $1k-1,500 for something that is (depending on whose). This is, of course, contingent upon it being sold in a store with some legitimacy. I'd knock about 40% off for buying from an individual where, even if it's BNWT, it's the same as buying secondhand.

It seems that quality is important, so why do you care about super 150s fabric? You do know that super numbers mean nothing of quality, right? I try to avoid anything over super 120s because at higher numbers the fibres become weaker, no matter the quality. If you really want super 150s there are a lot of cheap examples out there.
