Hi,

I read a lot this forum and it's wonderful the amount of informations I found !

I got a question about a tuxedo I want to buy. I read that the lapel "must be" peak (or shallow) but not notch.

So I look and the Internet to find one and a have a dilemma:

So, what is your point about it ? Is the peak lapel is so important that the microfiber is not or I should prefer notch to have a wool jacket ?
By the way, are thoses tuxedo package good (for their prices) or I hould totally avoid them ?

Thanks a lot for your advice.

Nicolas

If this is the way you wish to go, and can't financially go higher. The Polyester thingy with single button and peak. That would be my choice if I HAD to choose between them

Someone would have to pay me to wear a polyester suit.

Man I would totally do the notch wool over the polyester anything. And I wouldn't listen to anyone on this forum who tells you otherwise.

Here's why: basically the only people on the planet who care about whether a tux is notched or peak are represented on this forum, but basically everyone who lives in a first world country understands that a polyester suit jacket sucks.

Also, it would be nice to have a Brooks Brothers tux that costs $1k on sale, but seriously you are going to wear a tux jacket probably four times in your life unless you are a member of an orchestra. $250 per wear is pretty spendy.

I can build the tuxedo (different part, fabrics ...)
Can you give me the best choice ?

There is no single "best choice" when it comes to tuxedos. A one-button, no vent, peak lapel is the most classic option but there are also many other options that are equally suitable. Check out blacktieguide.com for an extensive description of the many choices available to you and how they impact the overall appearance of the outfit.
