Tux shirt with non tux suit?

I wear black tie less than once a year.

I have a fly front French cuff evening shirt with piquÃ

texture on the collar, cuffs and front panel. I like the idea of studs so have just got a similar piquÃ

evening shirt with placket holes for studs.

So ... What about wearing the fly fronted pique shirt either with a tie (semi formal daytime wedding type occasion) or open necked with a suit (evening restaurant type occasion) or will this just be obsolete now I have a preferable choice? Apologies for the noob style question.

With a wing collar no way. Even with a regular collar, I think you're going to look out of place. Mostly because if you could get away with it, it would be in a situation where a tuxedo would be appropriate.

Should have said it was a turndown collar.
