I'm looking for classic thin wool or top quality cotton turtlenecks in a slim tailored fit in cream or off-white, black, navy, etc. I hate the merinos that John Smedley produces because they have this sheen that's hard to describe but makes them look glitzy despite the nice cuts they do. I really just want to find some high quality trad men's fitted turtleneck sweaters that are light enough to wear under a two button blazer/sport coat or cord jacket. Any recommendations where to look?

The only thing I'm finding on RL is a mockneck... I'm looking for a proper rollneck (without any branding). Does RL Black Label do full turtlenecks, because they aren't featured in their website collection?

Thanks

For lightweight, slim-fit turtlenecks for layering I actually have done well with Lands' End Canvas 95% cotton / 5%cashmere blend. They come in black, grey and navy, and they're like $25.

They aren't going to hold up as well as merino, but did I mention they're $25?

The website does not sell everything RL makes. I own two. Whether they still have them I can't say but call the NY store and ask.

Thanks to both!

Not sure I dig the heather style navy of the Lands End. Would prefer deeper classic colors and especially looking for trad white. Maybe something a bit more interesting.

Will look into RL Black Label as well.

Any other suggestions still welcome. Is there no classic mens shop (doesn't have to be stateside - UK or otherwise) that does the standard wool/cash/cotton rollneck the way that RL does the polo shirt, etc?

Thanks again
