Looks like its been a few months since they were discussed here at length. I like them. But I haven't worn one in years, so I don't want to go buy anything too expensive if its going to be a "tester." Where can I find a stylish, trim turtleneck at a reasonable cost that's still going to be of a serviceable quality?

Bump. Because I have had the same question. I love turtlenecks, especially under a jacket. This is basically what I want to do:

I dunno. I'm not sure the standard turtleneck has really come back into fashion yet. Turtleneck sweaters maybe, and anything with a zipper from belt to top is ok (like a fleece/warm up style thing), but those may not go well with a sport coat.

I say give turtlenecks some more time alone to think about what they did.

Turtleneck is difficult to match with.
I mean, you could easily look like Steve Jobs (I'm sure somebody will ask whether you have new ipad conference...)

haha I agree, I think it's hard to make a turtle neck look really good.

Rocked the turtleneck just the other day and it was well received.

Buy a basic black one. Dept stores usually have them this time of year. Pair it with a few things. If you don't like it, you're out $19.

I just left a meeting with a guy who was wearing one. It looked okay.

Today I'm wearing black chelsea boots, grey slim jeans, a black turtleneck and a leather jacket with w. huge fox fur collar. I have yet to have rocks thrown at me so it seems ok. There is nothing special about this garment and it goes ok with jackets.

Man of Kent did this on WAYWRN a few days back and it looked good. Steve jobs favours a mock turtleneck.

Man of Kent rocked a wool turtleneck last week in the contest:

I've been considering picking up the Orvis submariner sweater:
