Gentlemen, here's my quandry.Manton,if you could weigh in on this, that would be great.I'm considering buying a (very nice)used bespoke, 3 piece Savile Row suit from somebody who is about 2.5" shorter than me.To increase the inseam to 32",I would need to lose the cuffs.Furthermore, the trousers have the high "fish" back, and therefore must be worn with braces,or suspenders. In all other respects, the suit is perfect, especially the jacket. Is a non-cuffed 3 piece suit acceptable? By the way,it is a finer cloth, not a tweed,as in a country suit. While I'm on the subject, must the vest be worn in daytime or evening,or does it even matter if I wear it at all?

It's fine. I, personally, would prefer cuffs, but there is no rule or tradition which says they are required. Sounds like it's fine for day or evening wear.

One of my 3 piece suits is without cuffs.

Nothing wrong with wearing a cuff-less 3 piece. I actually like the look with this particular suit. Extends the line of the leg.
