I would like the cuff on a solid colored shirt (white, blue pink) so that it is subtle but not with the contrasting material or colored buttons. I would think a white one worn with a velvet jacket to a party would be a nice look and an appropriate setting.

I think they look interesting on a suit.

    Neapolitan Cuff

I like this one because the collar style and cuff go well together.

LK, isn't there an early James Bond movie where he wears turned back cuffs on a suit?

Yeah I like it too, but trying not to buy wide spread collars because I have a really neck and I don't wear ties.

May I advise against wearing this shirt in a professional situation? In business it should always be clear who has the money and who needs the money. Looking as well-dressed as your client raises the possibility, however slight, of him noticing and thinking 'I'm paying too much money for this guy'. Better to be conservative.

    Neapolitan Cuff

Those are classy - Yeah I think those would go better with a suit in a more formal office...the original I posted...maybe at a formal office's "casual friday" ;-)

    It appears so...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Bond_Cuff#Cuffs

"Turnback or Portofino : a double cuff that is closed with buttons. First made by the Jermyn Street shirtmakers of Turnbull & Asser and later popularized by the fictional character James Bond in 1962"

...in 1962, it was on the First Bond Movie - Dr. No...

I think these cuffs are alright for casual but they would have a distracting effect on me if I saw them in an office setting. A person can be different while wearing the same items as everyone else but in better qualities and more stylishly. I think also if you pay attention to wearing standard items with more elan, you will be admired more than if youre the guy with the special cuffs. But for afterhours, indulge yourself.[IMG]

I liked em in, if I'm not mistaken, From Russia With Love, on Sean Connery.

Love them with the contrasting fabric but agree that they are not appropriate for most business settings.
