Tucking the narrow end of a tie behind the wide end

I recently received a Brooks Brothers tie, a bit over three inches at the widest point, and it isn't long enough for the narrow end to tuck into the label. I work in an environment where male employees wear ties and it isn't commonplace for ties to be flopping about. I tried tucking the narrow end into my shirt, but when the wide end swings it's exposed and frankly looks kind of silly. I'm afraid a narrow tie is a bit modern for a tie bar or tie tack. Any suggestions as to how I can get the narrow end to stay behind the wide end while preferably not constraining the movement of the wide end?

You could move the label/keeper up higher so the narrow end will reach it...

or use a safety pin or just a regular pin to pin the narrow end in place.

Or a staple gun might handle it nicely.

I like the idea of moving the label up. I considered a safety pin, and may well use it in the short term, but I fear that a safety pin will eat up the tie over time.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

A more expensive option could be the simple tie bar

I have the exact opposite problem. Ties are usually too long for me. Is tucking the small end into my pants the only option?

Bigger knot (go around twice?) or have ties shortened, but I don't think tucking it into pants is so bad.

Double wrapping doesn't quite work on the thick ties. I guess i can have them shortened. Is tucking it into the pants some sort of satorial sin though?

To me it means your tie is too long. I'm only about 5'9" and some ties are too long for me.

I don't think it looks bad and looking bad is IMO the only real sartorial (drink!) sin.
