I just recently graduated college and am going to begin work at a large consulting firm. My measurements: Shirt size - 16.5 32/33 Chest 40' Waist 30' I'm trying to build a basic business casual wardrobe but I'm running into sizing problems. I can't find any shirts that fit. Even slim fit shirts (Brooks Brothers, etc.) are too big around the lower chest and waist - they billow out. I haven't tried all slim fit shirts; i'm checking out the slimfit thread. Pants - I'm also having a hard time in this area. Pants that do fit well (in the upper thigh area - not too much excess fabric) tend to be too tight in the crotch area, i.e. a unsightly bulge. Not all hope is lost as I have found a single pair that fits well. I'm getting very frustrated at this point. Any advice? Should I just get the best fitting shirt I can and take it to a tailor to bring the sides in? Any idea on how much this would cost? Could I just take it to an alteration shop? Or, should I get custom made shirts? And pants? I'm looking to buy 3-4 pants, and probably 6-7 shirts spending ~$90 for pants and ~$60-70 for shirts.
