Anyone know of a place where I can try on the Tricker's Stow? I'm picky about sizing and interested in these for the winter. I'm in the NYC Area.

If you are interested in ugly orhtopedic boots stop by Alden, better value than Tricker's, especially for winter.

I'd go for the burgundy - dainite option. You'll slip and slide on leather. The last is quite big, so more surface area = more slipping and sliding. Tricker's are far better quality than Alden IMHO.

My experience with Tricker's country line is that they run a full size big--normally I am a 9C or 9B, but I take a 7UK/8US in the Tricker's I have. (As my feet are narrow, you may want to size down only one half.)

I disagree with the "size down a whole bunch" advice.

I'm wearing the Stow in 11 UK (5 fitting) and it's the same size and general fit as the 11.5D Chippewa work boots sold by LL Bean as the Katahdin boot. For the best fit, I wear the same socks with both boots. I'm an 11UK in Grenson and Alfred Sargent dress shoes and an 11.5 in Alden dress shoes and a 12 in most sneakers.

Not sure if this helps, but I'm a 10E (US Sizing) in most allen edmonds and a 8.5 E (UK Sizing) in crockett jones coniston boots.

To try them on in NY look for collaborators like NDG, CDG(?), Margaret Howell, etc.

I know NDG used to carry them, not sure about now.

Sizing is "country" - 1 full size off from US

Can someone please explain what/who the collaborators are?
