Most people will lead you to believe that the planning a wedding is a process akin to a root canal. Last November when I proposed to my beautiful girlfriend, I too was ready for a painful experience, little did I know those whom I came across would be individuals I would remember for the rest of my life!

We decided to make the engagement short and keep our reception very small and hoped to focus on a memorable day surrounded by close family and friends. I decided the typical rented tux was certainly out of the question and decided to go with a MTM suit, custom shirt and tie. I spent some time searching these boards and decided I would visit Martin Greenfield for the suit, CEGO for the shirts and Sam Hober would be a great way to round out the suit.

On a Saturday morning in March I made my way out to Brooklyn to visit the Greenfield factory, upon entering I knew I had made the right choice as I could feel the decades of dedication and passion in the rickety floor boards and worn stairs. I could go on for pages about the visit as being measured by Martin Greenfield and Joe Genuardi was an experience to cherish. We settled on a medium grey 3 piece suit and 3 follow-up visits later I picked it up (along with a navy suit). Never had a piece of clothing meant so much to me!

I figured it would be tough to match the experience at Greenfield when I decided on CEGO for my shirts. On my first visit I met Carl Goldberg who measured me and made a shirt so try out a launder a few times prior to making the white shirt I would wear on my wedding day. Carl was a true gentleman and someone who was extremely knowledgeable about what he did, he even insisted on having my shirt laundered and pressed to his specs as he didn’t like the job my cleaner did on the first shirt! The shirts he made are the best fitting dress shirts I have ever worn and I plan to make my way back soon for more.

After browsing the many pages of pics and discussions here on Sam Hober I knew a Hober tie and PS would be the perfect compliment to my suit and shirt. After eventually reviewing swatches I decided on a silver Garza Fina for myself and two of the Garza Grossa for my BM and dad. Again I could go on for pages describing the beautiful fabric and custom details but what left the biggest impression was the absolute highest level of attention I had ever received from David Hober. David truly personifies the word professional and I am afraid I will never be able to wear a off the rack tie again!

My apologies for going on however I felt is was appropriate to acknowledge these gents as they have all truly managed to make me a client for life!
