Trousers/Slacks with sneakers

I've seen a lot of talk on the board regarding suits with sneakers, but was curious what the opinion was with flat front trousers with sneakers (converse, pumas, asics tigers), paired with a polo shirts or maybe a fitted long sleeve buttondown shirt. I'm a young guy (20) and I would probably wear it to class and parties/shows.

Dress slacks, no. Chinos... mayyybe, depending on the shoe -- classic all-white Fred Perry, Tretorn, FootJoy tennis shoes, or something of that ilk.

You'll get more liberal answers in the 'Streetwear' Forum, though.
