1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I must rethink my positive opinion of Mr. Pocketsquareguy.

    I anxiously await the verdict.....[IMG]

Everyone's entitled to a mistake or two or a hundred. I still have a positive opinion of you.

Even if it were not for your posts ... the name alone would do it.

Properly installed fake tits > ugly-ass natural tits.
Triple monks spell an overkill and one more strap to end up breaking off.

Begin the extended inappropriate metaphor threakthon?

Monk shoes are a bit like tits.

Natural tits are like single monks. Lovely, and differentiated in loveliness by their shape and details.

Good fake tits are like double monks. They have a bit extra that draws attention and makes them special.

Triple monks are like bad fake tits. Clearly unnatural and trying a tad too hard to attract attention. (And are they goodyear welted?)

    Sigworthy!

Bontoni is making nice shoes but I don't like the double and triple buckles...

I don't understand you like some flair and wants to depart from the iconic models but I do find weird looking...

I would have stopped you just to ask you some questions about them...

It doesn't mean I would have liked them...

    Classic!

I don't like monks but I quite like those. Then again, I'm not particularly interested in Italian shoes, but I like Bontoni. I need a drink.

To get attention is not always a good thing with sartorial matters...

    Elegance is natural and discreet.

It is a nice way to add detail to something like a solid navy suit and subtle tie combination. Most of my clothing is fairly simple in pattern or uses basic colors, so a unique, belt, scarf or shoes adds an element of interest to an outfit. Combining too many accessories with unique features rarely works. I usually only wear one unique item. To learn to do it right takes some trial and error. But isn't that why so many of us are here? To see new things, to try new looks and refine the way we wear things.

I'm not here to subscribe to a uniform look.

Being different is cool, but these just genuinely look bad. The third strap is visual garbage. It might be doable with different propotions and a cleaner overall shoe.

    - I like Bontoni shoes, but there's no way anybody can wear this w/o feeling self-conscious.

I've never felt self conscious wearing them. (I wouldn't have bought them otherwise).

However, I would feel self-concious wearing many of the two toned or calf/suede combo boots and shoes that I see on SF. I would feel self conscious wearing spectators, which to me look like an antique costume.

We all have different tastes and that's why SF is so interesting....

The more I look at these shoes ... the more they grow on me. But they are a bit akin to the brocade vests at L'Escalier d'Argent ... nice to look at ... but not really to be worn.
