Tried SuitSupply for first real suit, not sure where to go next?

Hello all! I happened across this website while reading some SuitSupply reviews and decided to join up to see if perhaps I could get some assistance. Long story short, starting some new career work and needed to buy a suit. I'm not a wealthy man, but I could spring the cost to order one from SuitSupply. I had tried on a few jackets in stores and thought that I wore a 38S, this is the size I ordered. With free returns, what could go wrong?

My suit arrived on Friday - it's a blue stripe Napoli - and I was very excited when I opened it, it looked very nice (to me at least...) trying it on unfortunately did not go quite as planned. The jacket is just ever so slightly tight when buttoned. First question I suppose, I do not know if it is possible to have this tailored to fit perfectly. Everything else about the jacket - the sleeves, the shoulders, etc, seem good.

The pants obviously would need a little adjustment in the waist, but also seem rather tight around the seat. Not so much that anything is bunching anywhere, just very very form-fitting to my posterior. Will this change any if the waist is let out? I am also not entirely sold on how small the legs are at the opening but I understand that's pretty typical these days?

I have also ordered a 40S to try and compare, just to see what works/doesnt work for each size. I unfortunately think I might end up being stuck in the middle, and the functioning button holes on the SuitSupply suits would make it impossible to shorten the sleeves enough to where I need them.

Does anyone have any recommendations in the general $400-500 price range that will get me with an ever so slightly roomier fit? I am prepared to get things tailored as needed, but would like to get as close as possible to start.
